Smudgen: Artist Talk

Marking the finissage of the exhibition Smudgen, Gerhard Hofland is proud to announce an artist talk with Janine van Oene, Pim Blokker and Tim Mathijsen. Renowned Dutch artist Berend Strik has been invited to engage in conversation with the artists about their work, their practice, and how the exhibition Smudgen came about.

About Berend Strik:
Berend Strik (1960, Nijmegen, NL) is a multidisciplinary visual artist, primarily known for his photographic and stitched works. Strik was resident at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam, and was awarded the Prix de Rome in 1987. His work has been shown at solo-exhibitions at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Museum Valkhof, Nijmegen, and more recently at Het Nieuwe Instituut, Rotterdam, among others. Since 2012, under the title Deciphering the Artist’s Mind, Strik has been working on a series of works that investigate the practice of artists and their relationship to the studio.
